Wrap Me Up

2021

Textiles (gauze), human hair
Created during Copper Leg Art Residency

During the Copper Leg Art Residency, I explored a range of techniques and materials, engaging with traditional artisan practices such as foraging natural dyes, hand-dyeing textiles, and weaving on looms. My interest lies not only in the materials themselves but in the ritualistic and performative nature of the making process.

These ancient methods become a way to reflect on the human condition—what it means to exist in a body. The body is both our only means of connection and a boundary that separates us from the world around us. In Wrap Me Up, the materiality of gauze and human hair becomes a soft but potent gesture—an offering, a shroud, a second skin.
